About us
Cancer Council Victoria has been leading the fight against cancer since 1936, by focussing on research, prevention, support and advocacy programs that deliver better outcomes for people affected by cancer. The Cancer Epidemiology Centre develops and maintains high quality resources for epidemiological research and evaluation. The Centre runs four major research programs including the Diet & Nutrition Program as well as the Melbourne Collaborative Cohort Study (Health 2020) and programs for Prostate Cancer and Less Common Cancers.
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Research Fellow- Statistical Analysis to join the Cancer Epidemiology Centre. Reporting to the Director, Cancer Epidemiology Centre, your role is to provide leadership and support in the design and statistical analysis of CEC research projects. You will advise and contribute to the conduct, analysis and reporting of studies within the CEC and other collaborating institutions. You will also develop a personal research profile within existing CEC programs and publish scientific papers.
About you
With a PHD in Statistics or a related discipline and at least five years in a research-related role providing statistical support, you will have strong knowledge of quantitative analysis, advanced statistical methodology and interpretation of research data. You will also have a sound understanding of and interest in epidemiological theory and research methods with advanced skills in the analysis of family and genetic data. Demonstrated ability to secure research funding and previous experience in a leadership role would be well regarded.
Salary and benefits
This is a full-time permanent position with a Total Equivalent Package Value within range $99,279- $116,796 pa (includes base salary, superannuation, annual leave loading and maximum benefit of salary packaging).
