This position is responsible to the Director of Data and Evaluation for coordinating the National Sexual and Reproductive Health Needs Assessment Project. The successful applicant will also be actively involved in the research and evaluation of a wide range of FPNSW Health Promotion projects and Education Services courses.
A remuneration package of between $83,000 to $85,000 including a base, leave loading, 9% Superannuation and a max salary sacrificing will be offered to the successful applicant.

Essential Criteria:
A degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and work experience, in a combination of public health, epidemiology, research and evaluation methodologies, report writing, data management and analysis
Proven experience in the development of literature reviews, research proposals and ethics applications
Experience in handling routinely collected population health data, clinical surveys, clinical trials and quasi-experimental or randomised studies
Experience in research and statistical methods, report writing, data management and quantitative/qualitative analysis, monitoring & evaluation activities
Demonstrated ability to collate data from disparate published and unpublished sources and the ability to effectively track and manage data, versions and updates, and data sources
Ability to manage projects and work within timeframe and budget constraints
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent organizational skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a a task-oriented team and multi-disciplinary team
Ability to work concurrently on a number of different projects
Intermediate to advanced level computer literacy in Word, Access and Excel
DESIRABLE
Qualifications in epidemiology, statistics or other quantitative disciplines; experience in design, implementation and analysis of research and evaluation studies within an operational context
Qualifications or experience in the collection and analysis of qualitative data, or the evaluation of health promotion or education interventions and activities
Understanding of Australian health data sets and data sources
Experience in data analysis and SAS, SPSS or similar standard statistical package
RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute to the identification of reproductive and sexual health indicators through:
- Review of Data Needs Analysis summaries of health indicators and data sources
- Examination of other reproductive and sexual health data/information
Liaise with organisations engaged in gathering reproductive and sexual health data.
- Identify key data sources and organisations and request data not publicly accessible
- Follow up on data collection requests
- Perform data cleaning, data collation, data manipulation and data analysis.
Undertake literature reviews, report writing and research grant application submissions as required.
Contribute to the planning, design, implementation, research and evaluation of Family Planning NSW activities including questionnaire design, data collection and analysis and report writing.
Pursue and develop relevant research and evaluation grants or other external funding for Family Planning NSW.
Coordinate relevant FPNSW research projects and prepare quantitative and qualitative research articles for peer reviewed journals.
Assist staff in the development or review of papers to be presented at scientific and health conferences relating to Family Planning NSW research and evaluation activities.
Assist in the provision of research methodology, statistical and evaluation advice to staff as the need arises.
Perform other activities as required by FPNSW Director Data and Evaluation.
