PhD Scholarship in Industrial Statistics Institute of Fundamental Sciences, College of Sciences, Massey University

Fonterra (http://www.fonterra.com) and DairyNZ (http://www.dairynz.co.nz) are joint participants with the NZ Government in the Primary Growth Partnership (PGP, http://www.maf.govt.nz/news-resources/faqs/faqs-primary-growth-partnership). The Dairy PGP programme 'Innovation to transform the dairy value chain' aims at innovation activities directed on both sides of the farm gate.

A PhD scholarship sponsored by the PGP scheme, coordinated through the Riddet Institute, Massey University (http://riddet.massey.ac.nz/), is now open for a statistics graduate interested in the sampling inspection of manufactured dairy product. The PhD scholarship of $25,000 plus fees is for two years in the first instance but it is likely to continue for a third year. The position is to be held in the Statistics and Bioinformatics group, Institute of Fundamental Sciences (http://ifs.massey.ac.nz/) at Massey University, New Zealand. The successful candidate will develop new acceptance sampling methods to improve conformity testing and lot compliance assurance of dairy products under the supervision of Dr K. Govindaraju and Prof. Mark Bebbington.

Qualifications & Experience
MSc or BSc(Hons, First Class or Second Class Division 1) in Statistics.
Strong analytical, quantitative and mathematical skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Background in industrial statistics.
-Experience in statistical programming languages
