SENIOR OPTIMISATION ANALYST - FONTERRA NZ. OPTIMISE your career in a key position creating value at the heart of Fonterra's supply and demand equation.

As a Senior Optimisation Analyst you will provide world class analysis to Fonterra's portfolio optimisation function; delivering cutting edge analytics, problem solving and strategic recommendations in key commercial decisions involving Optimisation, Trading and Sourcing (OTS) and wider Fonterra business units. Your ability to construct and translate complex data models that incorporate sophisticated financial valuations principles, statistical/mathematical workings and optimisation science to form robust and profitable business recommendations will be a measure of success in this business critical role.

A great communicator with an affinity for numbers, your mathematical modelling experience and proven ability in solving complex and ambiguous business problems will enable you to produce solutions that create balanced strategic recommendations to the business. Your ability to effectively work across the OTS Product Groups will allow you to build expert product and dairy knowledge and develop an unparalleled understanding of Fonterra's long term product mix and asset portfolios.

The scope of the role extends to developing and maintaining methodologies and models that calculate the value of optionality across Fonterra's asset base and product portfolio, applying best practice from like industries such as energy. This challenging role will provide you with the opportunity to work on a variety of small and large projects and lead financial analysis supporting the development of long term strategy through recommendations on New Zealand's largest asset and product portfolios.

A post graduate tertiary qualification in finance, mathematics or relevant science field (e.g. Operations Research) with an advanced mathematical bias combined with proven mathematical and financial modelling experience is essential for this position. You may have industry experience with extensive product/process and financial evaluation skills or be a career academic interested in applying your specialisation to industry. Alternatively your background may include optimisation experience within related industries such as oil, energy or airlines.

You will have clear evidence of your ability to coach, mentor and develop others. Experience developing complex econometric, statistical, optimization or financial valuation models is preferred as is yield management modelling experience.
