Research Fellow (Biostatistician)

The position is within the School of Medicine at Deakin University and the Barwon Psychiatric Research Unit (BPRU) at Barwon Health (The Geelong Hospital). The BPRU is led by the Chair in Psychiatry, Professor Michael Berk, and has a program that encompasses epidemiological and intervention studies, as well as studies in basic science. This highly productive team of researchers have an outstanding record of achievements for published research, grant success and international recognition. The team includes one Professor, four post-doctoral researchers, two research assistants, PhD students and international visitors. The BPRU has an extensive network of research partnerships, including long standing and highly productive collaborations with international universities in the USA, Canada, Norway and Brazil and other national universities and research institutes.

The position is for a biostatistician who will be involved in several areas of mental health research. The Research Fellow Grade 1 will provide statistical support and will contribute to the conceptualisation of study design, analysis of scientific findings, writing of scientific manuscripts, grant applications and any other research support as required. They will provide advice and statistical support to staff and postgraduate students where appropriate.
