We have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated professional to undertake the critical role of supervising some of Australia's financial institutions, primarily focused on Life Insurance, General Insurance and Superannuation. We are looking for an individual with industry experience, strong analytical and statistical skills, and the highest integrity to be part of a talented team promoting good governance and risk management practices across the financial services sector.

As a Senior Analyst you will be heavily involved in the analysis and of the financial position and prudential soundness of supervised institutions. This will involve active participation in on-site visits to these institutions, statistical analysis, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards, and recommending any supervisory action that should be taken.

The successful candidate will be degree qualified, preferably in commerce, finance or accounting, with industry experience within insurance or superannuation and have demonstrated excellent communication, analytical and report-writing skills.

A strong capacity to question and challenge information presented is required, as well as a willingness to recommend and monitor supervisory action. Being a motivated team player is essential, as is excellent time management skills.

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) regulates the Australian banking, insurance and superannuation industries and is funded largely by the industries that it supervises. APRA currently supervises approximately $4 trillion in assets for 23 million Australian depositors, policyholders and superannuation fund members.
