Annual Salary: $110,108 to $123,741

AIHW's Expenditure and Economics Unit produces national reports on health and welfare services expenditure in Australia to inform public debate and policy development and refines and develops methods and definitions to improve expenditure collection and reporting. The Unit has a strong relationship with international agencies, such as OECD and WHO, through providing its data and expertise and contributing to selected international projects.

The successful applicant will play a leading role in improving the quality, policy relevance and availability of national statistics, in collaboration with government agencies, stakeholders and expert advisers. This position would suit either a person with a strong economics or health economics background who has high level experience relating to health and/or welfare policies and programs and with project and staff management expertise, or a person who has very strong staff and project management skills in a technical environment involving economic data.
