Our higher education division consists of seven academic units with approximately 17,000 students and provides coursework and research programs from undergraduate to PhD level.

    We currently have a position available for a Lecturer to join the statistics discipline in the Faculty of Life and Social Science.

    As a Lecturer with Swinburne you will teach across both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in applied statistics. You will play a significant role in the creation of new units, including forensic statistics and sport statistics, contributing to course development and material for a range of delivery modes. This position will also involve supervising students, research, and participation in collegial activities within the discipline.

    Skills & Experience:

    You will need to be a suitably qualified academic with an earned doctoral qualification in statistics and relevant experience in tertiary education. It is essential that you possess substantial knowledge in applied statistical methods and demonstrate a commitment to engaging with students' educational development. Base SAS programming, R programming and experience in areas such as data mining, structural equation modelling, multi-level modelling, survey sampling or MCMC methods are preferred.
