    The Workers Compensation and Injury Management Group are part of Human Resources within the University. The Group are responsible for providing injury management services to the University as a whole (our client base). The Workers Compensation and Injury Management Group are also charged with the responsibility for managing the University's Workers Compensation account, including ensuring that all staff with work related injuries receive appropriate treatment and are supported in their return to work process. In addition to this the Group are responsible for the financial management of the Workers Compensation premium, adherence to appropriate legislations and relationship with third parties, including our insurer, treatment, rehabilitation and legal providers.

    This position is responsible for providing data maintenance, analysis, support services and a full range of professional administrative and data maintenance analysis support services to the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Group. The position also maintains warehouses and analyses key data and reporting up to Senate level for the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Group and develops and delivers a range of assigned projects that support key strategies and functions essential to achievement of the Groups' financial goals and service delivery objectives.

    Reporting to the Manager, Workers Compensation and Injury Management, you will apply high level support to the group including full office management and managing and analysing complex and large data sets for the purpose of reporting. You will also provide project and administrative support to the Injury Management Coordinators, Claims Prevention Coordinator and Manager, Injury Management and Workers Compensation. This extends to ensure administrative processes and systems within the unit operate efficiently and effectively.

    To succeed, you will require the following skills, experience and qualifications:
  • relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent combination of extensive relevant experience and applicable qualifications
  • well developed analytical and conceptual skills, especially in numeric areas, and the ability to bring multiple perspectives to problem solving
  • demonstrated verbal and written communication skills including the ability to engage in independent consultation with a wide range of staff in a large complex organisation
  • excellent report writing skills
  • project management skills with demonstrated experience in completing projects on time, within budget and in scope to achieve organisational and unit objectives
  • knowledge and experience of the Workers Compensation legislation and Injury Management practices or desire to learn.

    Understanding of current issues in the higher education sector, nationally and internationally will be highly regarded as will previous experience in providing advice on and managing unit operational and project budgets.
