Short Term Contract - Project Biostatistician, Melbourne

CogState Ltd is one of the world's leading providers of computerized cognitive tests for use in human research trials. CogState provides its products and services to pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and healthcare companies via its offices in the USA, United Kingdom and Australia.

This 6 month research project will focus on analysis of clinical, cognitive, and biomarker measures for use in sample enrichment for Alzheimer's-related clinical trials.

Particular focus will include:
1. identification of clinical and cognitive screening measures predictive of increased beta-amyloid
2. evaluation of short term cognitive trajectories as markers of disease progression and/or conversions.

Analyses of interest could include, but would not be limited to:
1.1 Short term cognitive trajectories as predictors of progression
2.1 Short term cognitive trajectories as predictors of conversion
3.1 Computerized cognitive tests (baseline) as predictors of progression
4.1 Computerized cognitive tests (baseline) as predictors of conversion
5.1 Cognitive test performance as predictive of amyloid positivity
6.1 Cognitive test trajectory as predictive of amyloid positivity

Essential skills and experience

Master's or doctoral-level degree in psychology, public health (i.e., epidemiology / biostatistics), or related field; Expertise in growth mixture/group-based trajectory modeling using SAS, Mplus or related software; familiarity with analysing data from studies in dementia and/or cognitive testing.
