Principal Analyst - Capital Modelling
Sydney Based
An exciting opportunity exists for a Principal Analyst to join the Capital modelling team, based in IAG's head office in the Sydney CBD.
The Capital Modelling team is responsible for the development & maintenance of the Group's Internal Capital Model (ICM). The ICM is used by the IAG executive teams across different divisions as a tool to formulate the risk appetite of the business and assess the financial and capital impact of various strategies such as capital allocation, reinsurance structure and asset allocation.
Responsibilities will include:
Assess financial and capital related analytics produced by the ICM
Plan and manage capital related projects as required
Design and implement statistical methodologies used by the ICM
Design and Implement process efficiencies feeding the ICM
Prepare key documents and implement regulatory changes into the ICM as required
Socialise results of the ICM to internal stakeholders ensuring business decisions are made with appropriate information
Manage ICM projects supporting the Senior management team
Essential requirements for this position include:
Tertiary qualifications in an actuarial, mathematical or other analytical degree
Extensive prior practical experience (minimum 5 years) in the analysis of complex data using Statistical or Actuarial methods
Fellowship of the Institute of Actuaries or a relevant post graduate qualification in Mathematics, Statistics or other relevant qualification
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ideally you will also have:
Experience in a technical general insurance role such as Reserving, Reinsurance, Pricing or Capital modelling
Experienced user of Capital Modelling software platforms, preferably Igloo.
Proficient in the use of a structured 3rd generation programming language e.g. VBA, C, R
