Trainee Biostatistician (several positions)

Position Purpose:

Trainees will gain experience in biostatistics through supervised full-time work based placements and undertake a Masters Degree in Biostatistics part-time. Subject to the signing of a Deed of Agreement, the Ministry will pay university and associated fees, and appropriate study leave will be granted. Selection Criteria:

1. High level knowledge of statistical concepts and methods.
2. Honours degree majoring in Statistics, or equivalent.
3. Extensive experience in use of statistical software packages for manipulation and analysis of data sets.
4. Interest in health data and application of statistical methods to the analysis of health data sets.
5. High level communication skills, including skills in scientific writing.
6. Good consultation and negotiation skills.
7. Well developed organisation skills, the capacity to successfully complete several tasks concurrently and achieve deadlines.
8. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
