Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer in Biostatistics in the Department of Statistics at the University of Auckland. The Department of Statistics at the University of Auckland is the largest statistics department in Australasia and currently employs approximately 50 staff and supervises 25 PhD students. We teach a full range of courses, cover a broad spectrum of statistical research areas and offer a consulting service (see web site: http://www.stat.auckland.ac.nz/ .)

Applicants should have or be about to complete a PhD in Statistics or Biostatistics, with a research record in statistical methodology. They should also have a record of successful statistical consulting or collaboration with researchers in biomedical or health sciences.

The successful applicant will be expected to collaborate with other members of the Statistics department, and with researchers in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, as well as establishing their own research portfolio that attracts external funding and doctoral students. They will also be expected to teach in the Department's academic program at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and to supervise research students for Honours, Masters and Doctoral degrees.
