Biostatistician/Analyst

Telethon Institute For Child Health Research

The Telethon Institute for Child Health Research (TICHR) is a multi-disciplinary research centre affiliated with University of Western Australia, Curtin and other Western Australian (WA) universities. It aims to conduct research, influence policy and train PhD and other students in a range of scientific areas including the most important health issues experienced by WA young people. It is home to more than 500 staff and post-graduate students who are dedicated to tackling the major causes of childhood disease, disability, and disadvantage.

We are urgently seeking a BIOSTATISTICIAN/ANALYST

This role will involve providing guidance and support to research teams on the design and analysis of clinical, lab based and epidemiological studies, mainly in cystic fibrosis and other respiratory diseases in children.

The successful applicant will be:

Degree qualified, majoring in statistics, mathematics or other relevant discipline

Experience in the application of statistical methods to the analysis of health and/or biological data

Experienced with one or more statistical software packages (e.g. R, STATA, SAS, SPSS) for manipulation and analysis of data

Willingness to learn new technologies and techniques

Experience in consultation especially with non-statisticians

Ability to work with others in a team environment and contribute to a harmonious and motivated work environment

SALARY: Negotiable dependent on experience and qualifications
