    An opportunity currently exists for an analyst to join our performance analysis team. In this role you will you will use your analytical skills and enquiring mind to deliver reporting that assists the strategic direction of the Workers' Compensation division. As part of a small, collaborative team, you will use mathematical, statistical, probabilistic and econometric models to conduct in-depth analysis identifying and interpretation of trends within data and the communication of this information to a variety of stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.

    The successful applicant will be responsible for:
  • Assisting in organisational activities aimed at the automation of reporting.
  • Analysing large quantities of complex data to provide insights into claimant behaviours and business performance.
  • Undertake statistical analysis to assist in understanding performance drivers.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders and provide analytical support for planning projects within the Workers’ Compensation Division.
  • Design new analysis approaches to address emerging questions.

    The successful applicant will have:
  • Some experience in data analysis and the preparation of data reports.
  • Tertiary qualifications in mathematics, statistics, economics, science or related field.
  • Demonstrated capability to work with large data files and complex analysis is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate findings to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to write data manipulation code (SAS and VBA desirable).
  • A demonstrated attention to detail and a well-developed habit of self-checking the results of analysis as it progresses.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to research the drivers behind the results.
  • The ability to ask pertinent questions and a desire to develop a deep understanding of the information being generated.
  • A high level of personal motivation and drive to achieve performance.
