Data Analyst - Cancer Screening and Prevention

  • This is an exciting opportunity to undertake complex and large-scale data analytics and contribute to cancer control in NSW, within the Screening and Prevention Division.
  • Permanent full-time role
  • Health Manager Level 2 Salary Range $ 84,532 - $100,262

    The Role

    The Data Analyst is responsible for the maintenance, management and analysis of BreastScreen NSW data, to support performance monitoring, reporting and new research into cancer screening and prevention. This will include undertaking investigative analysis and modelling, implementing data quality review and cleansing processes, as well as carrying out routine reporting and data requests.

    Skills and Experience

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a quantitative discipline, such as statistics/ biostatistics, mathematics, actuarial studies or engineering, or other related discipline, OR demonstrated relevant equivalent professional experience and training.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of data analysis tools, including scripting in SAS and SQL.
  • Experience in data analysis and data validation.
  • Well developed organising, analytical thinking and problem solving, skills, the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to communicate with technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to comply with relevant confidentiality and privacy guidelines.
