The position:
  • Join our dynamic, growing team of motivated web, data and distributed systems technologists.

  • Jump onboard projects that include the design and analysis of surveys and panels, complex analyses and modeling of data and population projections/ trending.
  • You will impress with your ability to demonstrate the importance of methodological rigour with 'real world' business objectives to drive commercially viable solutions for our clients.

    What you will bring:
  • Bring innovation and creative solutions to address advanced analytical digital research opportunities.
  • Refine and further develop a globally scalable online research panel.
  • Review and document methodologies.
  • Contribute to the global expansion and integration of multiple data sources.
  • Offer original and creative solutions to address the collection and analysis of data from the emerging digital landscape.
  • Be confident and able to effectively communicate technical terms and concepts to non-technical personnel.
  • Work closely with the engineering team on implementation and facilitation projects.
  • Work closely with the sales and product teams to define and frame possible new feature sets.
  • Shared custodianship of the EM Methodologies.
  • Formulate and package new scalable research and data products.

    What you have done already:
  • Formal tertiary qualifications in Statistics, Mathematics, Social Sciences or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in analysis and manipulation of large data sets, modeling, conducting establishment surveys and panel/ sample management.
  • The application and calculation of design weights and response weights and the use of weighted data sets.
  • Demonstrated analytical report writing and problem solving skills (deductive reasoning, logical thinking).
  • Deep understanding of statistical software packages (SPSS, R).
  • Solid understanding of online systems and technologies.
  • Exposure to large-scale data analytics (eg. MapReduce/Hadoop, grid computing, column stores, OLAP, etc).
  • Exposure to advanced data processing concepts (eg. post-relational db's (key-value, document, graph, etc).
