THE JOB BRIEF

Measurement Science (MSci) is at the core of Nielsen's market research methodologies. Our associates are highly talented and capable professionals. We are client-focused and deliver quality and cutting edge methods to enable Nielsen's clients to gain valuable insights about their products.

The Senior Measurement Science Executive supports the Consumer Panel Services (CPS) product through methodology enhancements and new service roll-outs, and is responsible for leading analyses to resolve specific client concerns. This position serves as liaison between commercial team, product leadership, statistical operations, and measurement science teams with regards to client concerns and questions related to the Australian and New Zealand Consumer Panels.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Use of statistical methodologies to analyse data and turn numbers into stories our clients can understand and respond to
  • Manage client queries from initial inquiry to final communication back to commercial
  • Facilitate cross-team 2-way communication, e.g. passing client requirements from commercial team into Measurement Science and Statistical Operations, and providing Measurement Science workflow update to commercial team.
  • Compile and deliver documentation such as power point slides for methodology questions and/or frequently asked questions
  • Provide specific MSci training to new client service team members
  • Consult with internal and external clients and help provide expert technical consultation to solve complex MSci-related issues
  • Ensure MSci services are delivered to the highest quality standards
  • A governing body to ensure accurate methodology & practice within the organisation
  • Ongoing monitoring of key performance indicators across all services
  • Possess working knowledge in universe estimation, sampling and projection
  • Supporting MSci business needs, participating in team projects and staff meetings

    DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    Candidates should have a combination of experience and skills including:

  • 2+ years of market research or analytical experience
  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, business management, economics, behavioural sciences, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of universe estimation, sampling and projection.
  • Strong project management and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong statistical and logic skills with exceptional aptitude for data analysis
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Knowledge of SAS preferred
  • Industry knowledge in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) preferred
