    The Sydney Medical School is a large and comprehensive assembly of health and medical education and research in the Asia Pacific. The Sydney School of Public Health, a core part of the Sydney Medical School, offers leading educational and research opportunities that are recognised as an institutional strength for the University. The School currently has a fixed term full-time appointment available for an Associate Lecturer in Biostatistics and Epidemiology, to commence in January 2015.

    In this role you will:

  • tutor in both biostatistics and epidemiology
  • help coordinate teaching in these areas for postgraduate students in a range of programs including the Master of Public Health, Master of International Public Health and Master of Clinical Epidemiology
  • be responsible for associated administration duties, the development and grading of assessment material and evaluation of course work.

    To be successful in this role you will have:

  • a Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Clinical Epidemiology or completion of equivalent core coursework in epidemiology and biostatistics (essential)
  • a sound understanding of epidemiology and biostatistics demonstrated by completion of at least some advanced elective units in epidemiology and biostatistics in an MPH or equivalent program
  • excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines, and the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • teaching and administrative experience (desirable).
