CENTRE OF NATIONAL RESEARCH ON DISABILITY AND REHABILITATION MEDICINE (CONROD)

The Centre of National Research on Disability and Rehabilitation Medicine (CONROD) is a leading Australian research centre that is committed to generating new knowledge and innovations to address the burden of injury and disability globally.

A joint initiative of The University of Queensland, Griffith University and the Motor Accident Insurance Commission, CONROD conducts research into the treatment and rehabilitation of disabling conditions, particularly those associated with road traffic accidents.

Since its establishment in 1997, the Centre has been informing policy and clinical practice to improve the health, psychological, social, vocational and economic outcomes of people with injuries and disabilities.

The Role

The Biostatistician will manage the statistical analysis of health related data from research conducted across the Centre. The position will work closely with senior staff and research teams. The position is based at Herston, however travel to Griffith University may be necessary from time to time.

The person

Applicants should possess a postgraduate qualification in health statistics or health economics with relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience. The successful applicant must have strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience in the use of relevant statistical software, as well as the ability to assist staff with appropriate analysis and interpretation of results, and to generate high level statistical output for dissemination to stakeholders, within a research environment.

Remuneration

This is a part-time, (0.8FTE) fixed term appointment at HEW Level 8, until 31 August 2015, with the possibility of extension. The remuneration package will be in the range $84,935.36 - $95,370.94 p.a. (FTE), plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total remuneration package will be in the range $99,374.37 - $111,584.00 p.a. (FTE).
