The Client

This newly created Centre of Excellence was formed to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and accountability of education in New South Wales. They are focused on supporting decision-making in education delivery and development via analyses and evaluations of educational programs and strategies. They also monitor national and international strategic agendas to ensure that New South Wales is well positioned to provide leadership in education.

The Role

The role is in the Evaluation and Major Projects Unit and provides leadership in data analysis to support the delivery of evaluation projects for major Government and departmental initiatives, and build the capacity for data analysis across the Directorate and the broader education sector in NSW. This involves:
1. Contributing to major evaluations and projects by undertaking quantitative analysis using complex data (including leading the development of new analytical
techniques for use in analysing education data)
2. Contributing to the preparation of high quality evaluation projects for publication, and
3. Fostering sustainable partnerships with internal and external stakeholders regarding evaluation projects.

The Requirements

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

Graduate qualifications in a relevant field of study eg. statistics

Extensive experience working with complex datasets and project evaluations

Superior working knowledge of statistical analysis tool such as SPSS, R, Q, Data & Stata

Strong multivariate analysis skills including regression modelling

Good understanding of the workings of the public sector

Good liaison ability with diverse groups of stakeholders

Experience in analysing assessment type data eg. NAPLAN will be highly regarded.
