An opportunity exists for an outstanding individual to provide vision and leadership for the Public Health (Statistics) discipline. The successful candidate will promote and foster a collaborative, dynamic, productive and globally competitive research environment through research collaboration, external grant income, publication outputs, and research higher degree graduates. The promotion of excellence in teaching and learning through appropriate curriculum development and delivery is also a key requirement of this role.

The successful candidate will join the School's multidisciplinary research and teaching teams and will be based in the state of the art Hunter Medical Research Institute on the John Hunter Hospital Campus. The position provides an exciting opportunity to work with clinical, public health and health service researchers, and to lead an independent program of research. The successful applicant will be supported by an enthusiastic and dedicated team of senior public health academics, will have opportunity to lead and mentor a large group of academic and research statisticians and research fellows, and to collaborate on major research projects.
