    About your environment

    Cancer Council Victoria has been leading efforts against cancer since 1936 through world leading research, prevention, support and advocacy programs. The Cancer Epidemiology and Intelligence Division consist of several resources and programs that contribute to the generation of intelligence about cancer including the Cancer Epidemiology Centre (CEC) and the Victorian Cancer Registry (VCR). Research programs and studies within the CEC include the Melbourne Collaborative Cohort Study (MCCS), the Prostate Cancer Program, the Rare or Under-Researched Cancer Program, the Diet & Nutrition Program and the Australian Breakthrough Cancer (ABC) Study.

    About your opportunity

    We are seeking a David Hill Research Fellow to join the Cancer Epidemiology and Intelligence Division. Reporting to the Division Head, your role is to:

  • Utilise the CEC's current research platforms and resources to analyse material and devise new projects that build upon what already exists
  • Analyse data and produce high quality scientific papers for publication
  • Assist with the design and conduct of further studies and contribute to writing grant applications to support them

    All about you

    We are looking for someone with:

  • A PhD in epidemiology or biostatistics or in a related discipline with substantive training in at least one of the following fields: Statistics, Genetics, Molecular biology, or Bioinformatics.
  • Demonstrated experience in independent analysis of epidemiological, genetic or biological data
  • Documented experience in writing scientific papers for publication, with the ability to writing grant applications and a personal commitment to and achievement in scholarly research

    What we can offer you

    This full-time fixed term position for 3 years provides a salary within range $73,557 - $87,041 pa plus superannuation, annual leave loading and the benefits of not-for-profit salary packaging and a meal entertainment card.
