Operations Modelling Analyst

OPERATIONS MODELLING ANALYST (FULL TIME, PERMANENT)

Our expanding Operational Planning and Improvement Department is seeking a capable Operations Modelling Analyst to undertake complex modelling and analysis of AV's operations to improve operational performance. This is a full time, permanent position based in our Blackburn North office.

About the role

Reporting to the Manager Operational Planning and Improvement, the responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to:

  • Design and development of simulation models that enable evaluation of strategic alternatives
  • Develop and refine workload forecasts
  • Monitor and analyse large data sets to identify trends and gaps
  • Identify strategies to improve operational efficiency and/or performance

    About you

    To be considered for this position you will possess a tertiary qualification(s) preferably at postgraduate level in Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Science or Operations Research with demonstrated experience in the field of operations planning, demand modelling, logistics or similar.

    You will have solid quantitative analysis skills, proven experience in scoping projects and preparing complex reports for senior management coupled with strong conceptual and influencing skills. Relevant software tools experience (e.g. statistical packages) and programming skills are essential. An understanding of discrete event simulation and forecasting methodologies is highly desirable.

    The salary range for this position is between $96,725 - $110,545 per annum + 9.5% superannuation.
