    The National Perinatal Epidemiology and Statistics Unit (NPESU) is the national agency for epidemiological and statistical information on reproductive technology, pregnancy, childbirth, and the health care of newborns. The Unit is part of the School of Women's & Children's Health and is located within the vibrant campus life of UNSW Campus, Kensington.

    The NPESU is seeking a highly motivated Research Officer / Statistician to assist with the management and analysis of a variety of population datasets in maternal and perinatal health. The position will involve a range of diverse activities including liaising with data providers regarding data provision and validation, preparation of statistical tables and reports, and a variety of analystical research activities.

    About the role

  • Fixed Term for 12 months with excellent prospects of renewal dependant on funding and achievement of KPTs.
  • The position is available either full-time (35 hours per week) or part-time, fixed term for 12 months.
  • Salary Level 6/7: A$76K - A82K per annum (pro rata for part-time) (plus 9.5% superannuation contribution and leave loading

    About you

    To be successful in this role you will have at least:

  • A degree with tertiary qualifications in statistics, preferably biostatistics, and will have high level skills in SAS EG software and skills in statistics;
  • A proven ability to manage and analyse large data sets and a willingness to explore and learn new analytical methods and software;
  • Highly organised skills and enjoy working in a team environment as well as independently to meet project deadlines.

    The successful applicant may be required to undertake a criminal record check prior to appointment to this role.
