Salary: $89,955 – $106,817 p.a. (Research Fellow Level B) OR $110,190 - $127,054 p.a. (Senior Research Fellow Level C) plus 9.5% superannuation.
Level of appointment is subject to qualifications and experience.
Full-time fixed-term position available for 2 years.

At Orygen, The National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health, our leadership and staff work to deliver cutting-edge research, policy development, innovative clinical services, and evidence-based training and education to ensure that there is continuous improvement in the treatments and care provided to young people experiencing mental ill-health.

A Research Fellow (RF) is required to apply modern and innovative methods of data analysis to datasets collected at Orygen and its partner organisations. Examples of currently available data include longitudinal and cross-section data from samples of individuals suffering their first episode of psychosis, individuals at elevated risk to psychosis, and data from a range of trials which may be amenable to secondary analyses.

You will complete reports of analyses for incorporation into publications led by other researchers and will also take a lead role in authoring publications in their own right. Translation of research concepts into testable statistical models and translation of statistical results into clinical and, where appropriate, policy outcomes is an important facet of the role. A high level of productivity along with demonstrated ability to adhere to timelines is required.

As an experienced quantitative researcher you will have evidence of a workflow that ensures the integrity and reproducibility of the analyses undertaken.

The University of Melbourne has an agreement with Orygen for designated employees to provide services to Orygen. University employees working at Orygen are required to adhere to University policies, procedures, regulations and statutes, and to Orygen policies and procedures including its delegations of authority framework which can be found at http://staff.orygen.org.au/ For the period of providing services to Orygen, the RA will adhere to the control and direction of Orygen.

Applications (consisting of a curriculum vitae, cover letter and statement addressing the selection criteria) must be submitted online at http://hr.unimelb.edu.au/careers (search by job number) by the closing date. You must also indicate clearly the level for which you are applying.
