The role

To provide statistical support for the activities conducted by Veterinary Medicine R&D, Zoetis as may be required. Main activities are: providing advice on experimental design, statistical methodology and data collection; statistical analyses using SAS; coordination of data management activities; training of colleagues in statistical topics; writing and reviewing of documents, e.g. protocols, study reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide biometrics support on all aspects of experimental design, statistical methodology, data collection, storage and retrieval.
  • Conduct statistical analyses and develop SAS programs.
  • Liaise with external Contract Research Organisations (CRO's) to ensure that data from contracted-out studies are handled appropriately.
  • Meet divisional and team-specific strategic objectives for product development, by assisting with strategy, and as appropriate, Regulator response on applications and new registration dossier(s) for biological or pharmaceutical products.
  • Assist in the implementation of data handling systems that assure the quality and integrity of clinical study data.
  • Act to resolve complex and difficult projects, and be able to guide colleagues on how to resolve issues.
  • Able to communicate statistical concepts effectively and train colleagues in experimental design and related topics.
  • Liaise with Shared Services colleagues at other locations to ensure that a common approach is taken to handling clinical study data.
  • Demonstrate and maintain knowledge of the relevant biometric advances, and recommend changes and new statistical techniques as indicated.

    Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in biometrics, statistics or a closely related discipline.
  • Good communication skills, strong attention to detail, sound self-management, planning skills and experience in the preparation of documents;
  • A meticulous and informed approach to collection, collation, analysis and communication of technical data;
  • Ability to use SAS, Microsoft Word, and Excel computer software packages with the willingness to learn additional software packages as required;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Control/GLP/GCP is desirable.
