    The Sydney School of Public Health, University of Sydney is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in the area of epidemiology to teach in the general epidemiology program for post graduate students undertaking Master of Public Health/Master of International Public Health Programs and similar post graduate programs. You will take on unit coordination, lecturing, tutoring and assessment responsibilities and develop and review teaching materials. The opportunity will also be available to conduct research in relevant areas and contribute appropriately to school, faculty and university activities. This is a full time, on-going position.

    To succeed in securing this position you will have:

  • a PhD in epidemiology, public health or equivalent
  • completion of a range of advanced elective units in epidemiology in an MPH or equivalent program
  • sound knowledge of epidemiology as demonstrated by completion of relevant coursework at basic and advanced level within a Masters or equivalent program and higher degree research involving the use of these concepts
  • experience in teaching in epidemiology at postgraduate level, preferably including on-line teaching in addition to face-to-face teaching
  • demonstrated ability to contribute to research, including a record of publications and experience with grant submission
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as to work independently
  • demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • strong organisational and administration skills and excellent attention to detail.
