The Mark Wainwright Analytical Centre

The Mark Wainwright Analytical Centre, in the Division of Research at UNSW manages major experimental research facilities and provides specialist support, training and collaboration to researchers. Stats Central is a new unit being established in 2016 to provide expert statistics consulting and advice to researchers. We are currently recruiting up to four consultants to work with research groups across the University but especially in Science, Medicine and Engineering. Consultants will have the opportunity to specialise in particular areas and will have an affiliation with a School in their area of specialisation.

About the role

Fixed Term for 2 years

Full-time or Part-time

The establishment of Stats Central within the Mark Wainwright Analytical Centre expands its core operations to offer UNSW researchers support in study design and analysis.All consultants will be jointly affiliated with a School having a high demand for statistical expertise, where they will be physically based for part of their week. Consultants will be given the opportunity to specialise, engage as a collaborator in larger scale projects, and they would benefit from previous experience collaborating with researchers especially in Public Health, Medical and Clinical Research, Biological, Environmental and Earth Sciences, Biomolecular Sciences, Optometry, or Engineering.

About you

To be successful in this role you will:

A PhD in Statistics or related area

Ability to consult and collaborate with a range of researchers

Ability to design and deliver appropriate training to researchers and students

Senior consultants need the ability to provide leadership in the running of the Unit
