Victoria University of Wellington is the only New Zealand University offering a programme in actuarial science. We seek a dynamic person with a professional actuarial qualification and experience in tertiary actuarial education and research to lead the development of the programme. The successful candidate will maintain and build on the University's links with the profession in New Zealand and Australia and ensure Victoria is at the forefront in the provision of forward looking and high quality actuarial education.

The appointee will work closely with colleagues in the School of Mathematics and Statistics and the School of Economics and Finance, which share responsibility for the actuarial science programme. They will be expected to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, to contribute to supervision of postgraduate research students and to develop a research programme in keeping with the university's emphasis on high-quality scholarship. The position may report to either Head of School according to which school provides the more appropriate research environment for the appointee.
