PhD Scholarship

Queensland University of Technology

PhD Scholarship in Computational Bayesian Statistics

Description of Award: You'll receive a scholarship, tax exempt and indexed annually ($25,406 in 2016) each year for 3 years. The scholarship commences 1 March 2016 at the earliest, or as soon as possible after this date. The Scholarship is available to both Australian and International students.

This scholarship is supported by the Australian Research Council under a discovery early career researcher award from Dr Christopher Drovandi (DE160100741).

As the successful applicant of this PhD scholarship you'll contribute to the research project: Tractable Bayesian Algorithms for Intractable Bayesian Problems. The aims of this project are to:

  • develop new likelihood-free Bayesian algorithms and implementations that are efficient and scalable
  • create novel algorithms and implementations to economise computations in multiple posterior calculations by orders of magnitude in order to provide timely solutions for a large variety of problems
  • utilise the developed methods to address high-impact applications in cell biology and heart physiology.

The Scholarship application will remain open until the position is filled. Any questions can be directed to Chris Drovandi (c.drovandi@qut.edu.au) For further details please visit the following website:
