Purpose of Position

  • Manage data systems for population health data integration in accordance with privacy law, and relevant data custodian and ethics approvals
  • Manage systems and processes for the delivery of integrated datasets to internal and external project investigators
  • Provide timely and efficient administration, analysis and technical support for the information technology systems, databases and application tools used within the CHeReL Data Integration Unit.

    This position is Permanent Full Time and classified as Health Manager Level 4.

    Selection Criteria

    Appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent, and extensive professional experience in the use and administration of databases

    Recent demonstrated experience in undertaking a data manager, data analyst or database administrator role with a strong understanding of relational database technologies and capacity planning of databases

    Excellent conceptual and analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information from numerous sources, prepare and present analysis and reports, deal with challenges creatively and achieve business focused solutions

    High level skills and experience in using both SQL and SAS database query languages or similar

    Extensive knowledge and experience in using administrative data or population-based health and health-related data collections

    High level understanding of information privacy and security including knowledge of and ability to interpret relevant legislation, policies and standards

    High level oral and written communication, interpersonal, consultation, negotiation, customer service, analytical thinking and problem solving skills

    Excellent organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a capacity to prioritise, multi-task, achieve business goals, perform and always work with a customer focused approach
