About your environment

Cancer Council Victoria has been leading efforts against cancer since 1936 through world leading research, prevention, support and advocacy programs. The Cancer Epidemiology Centre (CEC) develops and maintains high quality resources for epidemiological research and evaluation. Research programs and studies within the CEC include the Rare or Under-Research Cancer Program (RESoURCES); the Uber Cohort Maintenance Program; the Diet and Nutrition Program; and the Australian Breakthrough Cancer (ABC) Study.

About your opportunity

We are seeking a Systems Support Officer to join the Data Management team. Reporting to the Team Leader - Data Management Cluster, your role is to:

Collaborate with end users, developers and IS technical staff to ensure research information and reporting systems operate efficiently and meet the needs of users

Participate in the design, testing, implementation and maintenance of systems and respond to requests from research staff

Undertake cleaning and manipulation of data using a variety of tools including SQL Server Management Studio

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Bioinformatics or related field with demonstrated experience in an applications or systems support role

A proven ability to implement and maintain information and reporting systems with knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Report Manager, T-SQL, stored procedures, views and functions.

Robust problem solving and analytical skills, strong written/documentation skills and the ability to develop and maintain working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a research environment.

What we can offer you

This full-time fixed term position for 12 months provides a salary within range $54,900 - $60,800 pa plus superannuation, annual leave loading and the benefits of not-for-profit salary packaging and a meal entertainment card.
