    The Client

    The Role

    This role is considered the technical expert for advanced statistical modelling, data mining and optimization techniques and their applications for the market research industry. This will involve working closely with the Research and Technical Manager and other team members on ongoing projects, which include model updates, revisions of existing algorithms and streamlining data production processes. You will also be relied upon to implement methodological improvements to the ongoing media usage study, including revisions and updates to the sampling and weighting frameworks, performing data fusions, data modelling and data integration.

    The Requirements

    We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Degree qualifications in Maths/Stats/Econometrics/OR
  • Proven experience in statistical modelling, data mining and analytics and the ability to develop and design algorithms
  • Experience in problem solving with very large and complex data sets including data matching methods (eg. data fusion)
  • Solid understanding of quantitative research techniques with the ability to design sampling frameworks, weighting structures and the ability to select the best statistical techniques for the problem at hand
  • Advanced knowledge of one or more statistical programming languages (R, Python or SAS)
  • Advanced Excel skills with VBA macros
  • Effective communication skills skills
  • Curious and inquisitive mind with a passion for data and analytics
  • Strong attention to detail
  • An understanding of the media industry, media planning, media agencies and publishers (preferably Australian) will be highly regarded.
