Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor In Data Science

Victoria University of Wellington's strategic plan emphasises interdisciplinary research and teaching. Our initiative in developing Data Science is a key part of this strategy and supports Victoria's vision as a world-leading global-civic capital city university

We seek a dynamic academic with expertise in statistical aspects of data science and experience in university teaching and research to play a leading role in the development of our Data Science programmes. To that end, the appointee will work with colleagues from across the University, including those in the mathematics, statistics, computer science, information management, digital humanities, design and digital government.

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, to contribute to supervision of postgraduate research students and to maintain a research programme of international standard, in keeping with the university's emphasis on high-quality scholarship.

They will also maintain and build on the University's engagement with public and private sector stakeholders in data science, including through potential professional training courses and externally funded research.
