Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in Data Science

We seek a dynamic academic with expertise in statistical aspects of data science such as inference and modelling for big data, Bayesian networks, graphical models and data visualisation. You will have experience in university teaching, a strong research record and be ready to play a leading role in the development of Data Science programmes at Victoria. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with colleagues from across the University, including in mathematics, statistics, computer science, information management, digital humanities, design and digital government.

The appointee will be expected to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in data science and statistics, to contribute to supervision of postgraduate research students and to maintain a research programme of international standard, in keeping with the university's emphasis on high-quality scholarship.

S/he will also maintain and build on the University's engagement with public and private sector stakeholders in data science, including through potential professional training courses and externally funded research.
