We seek a dynamic early-career academic wanting to join one of New Zealand's most respected and innovative Statistics programmes. The position arises as a replacement for the duration of a James Cook Fellowship held by a Professor in this group.

The successful applicant should have some experience in university teaching, a growing research record and will be ready to play a role in Victoria's programmes in statistics, data science and actuarial science. The Statistics group is highly connected within the University and beyond so there is the opportunity to work with colleagues from across the University, including in mathematics, computer science, biological and earth sciences and the business school.

The appointee will undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in statistics and contribute to supervision of postgraduate research students, as well as develop a research programme of high standard, in keeping with the university's emphasis on high-quality scholarship.
